Our Mission:

Margaret Drive creates small batch jewelry for all. We see the importance of handmade, shopping local and supporting small businesses. We strive to be environmentally friendly and to use all sustainable and reusable materials in our shipping and displays.

"Why is your shop called 'Margaret Drive'?"
I get asked that question almost every time I mention my shop. 'Margaret Drive' is the name of the street that I grew up on. When I started thinking about all of my artwork, jewelry, crafts etc. they are all based on memories of my house on Margaret Drive. I grew up in a house where both parents were teachers. To help compensate their salaries, they built items out of wood and sold them. This was before the days of DIY culture. They traveled to different craft and vendor shows to sell their treasures. They would work on their wood crafts in the garage of our house on Margaret Drive. From a young age I have been consistently saying, "I want to learn how to make that."

About Me:
Hi! I am Julie. I have always been a creator, artist and designer. I love working in my studio for hours listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks and watching TV shows. I have always been a rock and stone lover (as a kid I had a Kaboodle filled with rocks I collected) and I have a love for gemstones and their healing powers. I hand roll beads out of polymer clay and paint intricate designs on them. I draw out my designs before I put them together, and study different color combinations before I settle on anything. I have a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Eastern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Counseling from The University of Illinois Springfield.
